My opinion is that it's possible to find a computing system simpler and more effective.
First, no malus for not playing games and no malus for first 20 games. But another kind of penalty

As the new members come in special tables after 20 games,
The crucial point is to calculate the average and score on the basis of only the last 20 games.
If a player plays in a month less than 20 games, his score will be calculated considering as if he played 20 games anyway.

So if a player, for personal reasons, can not play for a long time, when he resumed his activity has the same opportunities to move up the rank of a new member.
Otherwise he will prefer to create a new account.

Bye.

Well... I see a lot of debate here and it's very good to get all the opinions together. I only wanna say one quick thing. For me it's not possible to continue playing with a 10 games limit. I have an high average of game duration and I'm no kid to spend all my time playing for ranking. I like this project with the ranking system but no more play for me because now it's not fun.

I have an average score of 9.78, a total of 60 games(!) and my games for the last week are now 11. Tomorrow I'll get the malus. I played almost 8 to 9 hours this week! I'm not spending three hours playing tomorrow so I can keep the average without the malus.

The all-inners, the guys with more than 10 hours per week for playing online poker and the addicted are the ones who can play with this malus system, not me!

Good luck for everyone.

I am for at least changing the activity to 5 6 or 7 games a week, so that way I only have to play ~1 game a night to keep my score up. I do really like Terry's idea of a 20 game average or something like that. It will also make the rankings more dynamic, as it will be a moving average, a sort of what have you done for me lately kind of thing.

Hi guys and thank for your great job
After many hours of my free time spent playing the game i would like to share my ideas.

1.About 10 games per week i think it would be better a time limit and not a game limit, in fact some games are 1 hour long and other 10 minutes so a time limit (3 or 5 hours a week) is more easy to reach and people could organize their own free time with a fixed parameter

2.Ranking system. I think there is something wrong in it considering the average points as main parameter, in fact my average now is 10.52 so it means that if I arrive in the 3rd place (10 points for position) I decrease my average and my rank but 3rd place is not Bad!! So is very difficult to go up in the rank even if you have not so bad game. My suggestion is to add more extra points for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position on each table considering the average point of the players of the table (like prize level of s&g tournment). example: the average points of the player of the table is 10 so there are 10 extra point to assign (it could be 50% (5 points)for the 1st 35% (3,5 points) for the second and 15% (1,5 points) for the 3rd. Doing in this way you can gain some extra points with good placementes, and this value depends on the strong of the players round the table, good players good extrapoints, bad players bad extrapoints
This is only an idea took from the base of S&G system tournment

I read in another post, that maybe the score will be calculated only on the last 30 games per month.
It's not the 20 games that I had proposed, but it is much much better than now. I hope this feature will be activated as soon as possible. Thank you very much.

About the question of the assignment points, it would be nice that points were given in relation to the players' quality at the table.
If I play with players at the top of the rank and I win against them, I deserve more points than if I win against bad players.

It would be great if when the game begins, the system instantly calculates the average points of the table and displays the points on offering for that game. These points will be proportional to the players' skill in that moment.

I guess it's hard for developers to implement this idea, but it would be offer an extra incentive to play well and it would reduce some cheats with fake games.

Bye
