Hello.

You have certainly noticed that there have been a poll on the left side of the PokerTH page.

Which kind of mobile PokerTH Client would you prefer?

"_marc" and I had a chat about this (on IRC) and I agree with him.
It seems that lots of people voted for an Android port of PokerTH but it would be better if a WebClient for mobile browsers would be created.

Being able to play PokerTH from a website could allow owners of all kind of devices to play PokerTH.

PokerTH would be available on all Android tablets & phones, Ipads, Iphones.
But not only those, it would be also available on almost every Operating System ever created (as long as it's possible to connect to internet)...

Btw, I guess it wouldn't be that difficult to create small Android/Iphones applications to load these webclients with customized settings. These apps could display the player's rank and stats...

To me, a webclient would be one of the greatest ideas that the PokerTH dev team would have had for conquering the world of poker games :)

Thank you. Bye.

Hi Xanax,

for my eyes are getting old, I'd prefer a 'danuxi table style' fullscreen 1600x1200 scalable with king size letters and cards.

Greetings

Emmeler

That's not really the point...

Here, here we talk about the platform on which the game could be developed, in a near future.

EDIT : I know now what you meant...

I also would like to know already what this new port could look like on these systems.

Maybe the webclient will not feature table styles like we know (I wish they could). Maybe there will only be some buttons and a green background for the carpet.

Doitux, Lotodore, floty : What could it look like ? Please, please, tease us :)

A webclient is currently not our first spot sorry.

Since the android client is the most requested one, we will try at first to work on this old ticket: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/pokerth/ticket/80

The advantage of this way with neccessitas is that we dont have to code the whole client from the scratch. We can use the same code basic which is also very helpful for later changes. Just the gui have to be adjusted then. But currently there are some problems with the build as you can read there. Lotodore have done some research yesterday and found some useful information. Maybe we will get it running ;)

regards
doitux

Finally, after spending a lot of time on building the required libs, I just succeeded to compile and link PokerTH (with some hacks) for android (using necessitas and the android 2.2 SDK). It still crashes when started in the emulator, but this is probably because the configuration file is usually located in /home/username/.pokerth and the data files are not yet part of the package which is installed on the android device. But there is a lot of progress now, so there's hope that soon we are able to release PokerTH for android (at least for tablets, smartphones are probably too small).

Stay tuned :-) and leave us some messages for better motivation ;-).
