Playing PokerTH over Local Network 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hi There,
we are sitting in different rooms and want to play over local network. Our local address range is 192.162.2.10 - 20.
Starting with "netzwerkspiel beitreten" and entering one local address doesn't work. It results in timeout. Port 7234 is enabled. We are running an Belkin DSL WAN Router where a virtual server an the given port is enabled.

Is there a simple method to get connected locally?

Thanks for reply!
Peter

Problems like this are usually caused by personal firewalls (for example the built-in firewall of Windows). Make sure that the firewall permits the incoming port on the system running the server.

Hi!

I have the same problem.
I want to play PokerTH in my private (local) network with my wife and not over the DSL-Router and the internet.
The local firewalls on both pc's are off (while testing).
If i try to connect from pc1 to pc2 (there is the table) i get after 0,5 seconds the error: Cant connect to table..

Is it not possible to play poker only in a private network??

I hope anybody can help me.

Thanks..

Calle

Are you trying to connect by specifying an IP address or a hostname? When trying an IP address, try ping [ip address] too, to see if that works. You can also try starting another instance of the pokerth program on the same machine and connecting to the server running on the same machine, to see if that works.
Port numbers should match, and try disabling IPv6 and SCTP if you used that.

This bug should be fixed in the bugfix release (2009-01-04). Please check the download page for the new packages.
