I'm trying to set up a game on my campus at JU. I do the create network game and set it up. then On another computer I do the Join Network Game. When I click connect I get a network error

"Connection timed out. Please check the server address. If the server is behind a NAT-router, make sure the port forwarding has been set up on the server side."

I did this with a computer hooked up on the same hub that my computer was on and I did this with a computer down the hall from me on the same network.

Maybe I'm trying to connect to the wrong IP address but I'm not really sure.

FYI I'm using WinXP home on both computers.

Hi Kwingat,

I assume you didn't change the port PokerTH is running on - so the port should be 7234.

Try a ping on the other computer's ip address on both computers. Maybe there is a firewall on one or both of the computers. You can also try a "telnet <ipaddress_of_create_network_game_computer> 7234" on the "Join network game" computer if you know about telnet. If the port can't be reached, telnet would tell something like "can't connect". Unfortunately, there could be many reasons why the connection fails

Do you use the same versions of PokerTH? Don't know if this matters. What version of PokerTH do you use?

Regards
Bernd
