I was trying to host a game and it crashed down, now every time i try to connect to an internet game it crashes with this message:

I also uninstalled and reinstalled but same problem.

just for the record if this should come up again once...

i had the same crash twice (rev1177), but am unable to reproduce it now [once i got pokerth compiled with debug symbols...].

it went along with the "avatar complaint", i.e. every 20th time or so it would not show the MessageBox, but crash with the error posted above. somehow (BEFORE lotodore restarted the server w/o avatars) the avatar complaint thing vanished and the crash with it. at least i wasn't able to reproduce it since then, so i guess the crash is somehow connected to this avatar thing.

oh, and both times the crash happened when the internet-connection progress bar was at 100%...

i'll just run pokerth with gdb every time now and see if this returns...

Thanks for the report. This should not occur again now that avatars are disabled on the server.

Sorry again for the avatar problems. We concentrated on general heavy load with lots of games when testing the server and did not very much consider the avatar system, which currently does not scale very well (as you might have noticed ).

Just as note if someone else encounters this:

This assertion failed/segfault/bug is fixed in svn.
