Just a few minutes ago (19:48 CET) I got an error window during an internet game session.

Suddenly (beginning with river) a window appeared showing:

QUOTE:
Network Error: An invalid avatar file was configured. Please choose a different avatar.

No one of us had an avatar configured, as you can see in the screenshot.

Involved players: Hansi, Frank, jackloff and Human2.

After I've closed the error window nothing else happened. The game didn't move on.

Can you find something in the server log? The zip file contains the screenshot and the client log.

This is being worked on - I have disabled avatars on the dedicated server until it is fixed. Sorry for the trouble caused by this.

We have changed the behaviour so that avatars can be updated during the game, so that no more sync failures while starting the game should occur. Also, the handling of avatars on the server has been improved.

Avatars are now only transfered when joining a game, so no more avatar errors should occur during the game.

Last but not least, an avatar error will no longer cause the client to quit, instead it will only be logged in the console and the game can go on as before.
