I've installed 0.6 in Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) and played the internet game. (EDIT: It needed installing mikmod before i could start it, because of dependency to libmikmod)

Real nice work

Some stuff:

Can you please store pokerth executable somewhere in the system e.g. /usr/bin?
The users home directory is not the right place.

In the internet game i was told from you guys that preferred language for chat is english...
That's OK for me (for the lobby):

But in game's chat it must be allowed to chat in the language of the gamestarter... You call the games "Spiel" "game" "partitia" whatever localized..
I think, it must be definitevly mentioned somewhere that game-chat-language is whatever the game starter speaks.

Perhaps a small flag in front of X's game / X's Spiel / Partitia ...
And additionally at the start of game, message in the chat-box which language is wanted / allowed

Hi,

I think the chat language in games is not something to be "forced" by the nationality of the person who happened to start the game (especially since the game starter often leaves the game again). I feel that I shouldn't complain that people in Gerhard's Spiel primarily speak German, and that the people in Gerhard's Spiel shouldn't get angry at me (or say that I'm doof, damn it, stop doing that ) about the fact that I don't necessarily understand everything they say in German.

The pokerth community is currently still slightly too small to demand that people in a partita must be/speak Italian and that people in a spel must be/speak Dutch. That's my opinion, but I'm willing to admit that I'm wrong if I am...

@foedi: At the moment there isnt a strict language rule for all the chats. If you speak english in Lobby its fine for people who doesnt understand your native language (if it's not english

In ingame-chat it is the same. If you like to speak french, dutch or german just do. If the other players ask for "english please" because they didnt understand it would be fine to switch to english.

I think the best way to avoid troubles is a considerately and polite way chatting with other people. May be starting with english is one point for that.
