Hi translators,
I have 2 questions:
1.
I have had feedback in an internet game about the Dutch translation for the word "Cash". I've translated it the same as DE, because "Geld" means money in both our languages.
Anyway, the feedback was that if "fold" and "raise" are part of poker lingo, then "cash" may be poker lingo as well.
What do we as translators think about this?
2.
DE has the languages translated like How the speakers call the language (how the Germans call the language), for example Norsk (Norwegisch) for the language of Norway. For Russian, this is a problem due to a different character set, but anyway, it's a bit weird if this is only in the German translation. So, do we all do this, or do we tell the Germans that they should remove it? We could also standardize on only putting in How the speakers call the language.
Regards,
heyn
