I'm running the beta of Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) and the sound doesn't work. This is the error message:

I think it's related to this bug:

im running on the same version of ubuntu as you but it works fine with me. i dont know much about linux but maybe its a problem with your computer. maybe change settings on the game.
