I use and enjoy PokerTH both online and for local games. Online you get all the ridiculous calls and luck you can imagine and should be expected.

For local games against computer opponents, I have won maybe one in 500 games, which is an amazing statistic. This cannot be a fluke and must be in the algorithm.

Not a complaint, just a statement.

You mean that the deck is stacked so that the computer players win more often? That is quite an accusation

In my experience, the bots play okay but unimaginative - if they start raising, they tend to have something - and beating them requires a bit of patience. I tried a few games just now, intending to win, and I won the first one after 40 hands and the second after 52 hands.

Tips:
Keep the blinds low so you don't have to force anything too soon. When the blinds are still low, don't raise preflop too often, just call or fold.
Don't bluff too often, and when you do, don't use too much cash for it. A smaller raise may be enough. If it doesn't work, consider forgetting about the hand, don't waste more money.
Fold a lot and fold it soon, especially if it doesn't cost you much to fold, but try to make a lot of money with very good hands (full houses, flushes) by waiting for the bots to raise and then re-raising big. They tend to then call. Hope to get a big win early on, then protect your lead by playing even more carefully.
