Server Installation 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello all,

I'm trying to install the server side of Pokerth on Linux 2.6.23.1-42.fc8 via Plesk with fedora. I cannot understand what to do :

1. How the serverside must be installed?
2. Which kind of clients should use internet users?

How can I setup the entire system in order to have access to Pokerth via internet and give access to a community of people interested to poker?

Thank you all .

Simone

Hi Simone

1. I am not really familiar with the Plesk hosting software, but check out this thread for some info on compiling the pokerth_server binary and configuring the server:
http://www.pokerth.net/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,85/func,view/id,1583/catid,17/
Or just follow this link directly instead:
http://pokerth.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/pokerth/trunk/pokerth/docs/server_setup_howto.txt
Most of the info should still apply. Do note that the net protocol has just changed/is still being changed in svn so you probably want to compile the 0.6.2 source.

2. I believe there is no other client for pokerth except the one from pokerth.net. Your users can change the default pokerth server addresses to your server+irc info in the internet game settings menu.

I hope this helps at all.
