svn800 segfaults sometimes (side pots?) - 2007/09/05 03:44 I've seen some segfaulting in svn800. It happens after the river, when it is decided who wins how much. The first time, it segfaulted when there was a fairly complex situation with two side pots.

I then did some runs where I deliberately lost early in the match and let the ai players fight it out. It segfaulted a few times then, when there was going to be a showdown. I posted the logs at the bottom of this post, but without knowing their cards, it's not very useful info.
Which brings me to this point: wouldn't it be possible to immediately log the hole cards of the ai players in a local game, not in the log window, but in the html log? People ask if there can be cheating features: this may be an easy way of providing it. You're not really making cheating too easy, because it's not that easy to check the log all the time. Well, okay, it's not hard either, but you do kinda have to go out of your way to do it. It can be educational for newbies too.

thx for reporting. i'm very sure the problem of segfaults is to be found in determining the name of hands. yesterday i have implemented the new feature of kicker detection. when i was testing there were also some segfaults but i thought that i found all bugs and fixed them. but it seems now the new kicker detection is very unstable. the problem is that i'm on holiday at the moment an also for next two weeks and so i have no chance to fix this. i will initiate our developers to comment this lines of kicker detection and work on this problem when i'm back.
