Re:Bots fold to easy - 2007/04/10 22:01 Hi,

I actually think that this "rake" thingy in PokerTH is just a lazy way of accepting an obvious bug. As far as I know (and I'm not a Poker pro, unfortunately), there are explicit rules how to handle such situations. Remember, usually, there's no money handled on a table. And since - depending on the Blinds, the chips involved and whatnot - it's not even possible to split higher amounts of money that way. I wish I could find the official rules for that. Maybe somebody else can...

Regards, Ralf.

Re:Bots fold to easy - 2007/04/10 22:36 Sorry for the double post...

As for the computer opponents folding too easily... I had it at least 5 times that there was a flush on the river. All I had to do was to go all-in and voila! Ok, I could have had one or more cards that might have given an even better flush or even a straight flush but c'mon...

Maybe it is. But I am not a developer, hell, I can't program at all. So whether I'm lazy or not does not make any difference

Wikipedia rules, like the one Leszek quoted (I stand corrected, Leszek) are good enough for me. Values of chips involved, however, shouldn't be a problem, we can just assume there are only chips worth $1 on the table.

But I don't care what happens to the extra $1 in split pots. People start with thousands of dollars anyway. The chances of the $1 making a real difference are probably on par with the chances of getting a royal flush. So whatever the developers do or do not do about this situation, I'm fine with it. But that's just my opinion.

Re:Bots fold to easy - 2007/04/10 22:54 Actually, during all these "tests" (didn't know that testing can be so much fun! ), I had a discrepancy from -$1 to about -$50 (with many split pots). Don't know if that makes a difference...
