Re:small issue in svn468 - 2007/06/02 20:43 Finally I took the time to switch to boost 1.34.

Works fine on my sytem (Windows). I can start a network game and join as usual.

Re:small issue in svn468 - 2007/06/03 07:12 Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I'll try to do a completely fresh install of pokerth later, compiled against the boost 1.34 libs, and I'll report back if I keep having problems.

Re:small issue in svn468 - 2007/06/06 07:04 Hi,
I did a completely fresh install (coincided with me getting a new computer), and boost 1.34 appears to work. I had to make a symlink /usr/lib/libboost_thread-mt.so -> /usr/lib/libboost_thread.so so maybe I didn't do that properly on the other system when the 1.33 -> 1.34 upgrade was done.

Sorry for the false alarm,
Regards,
heyn

Re:small issue in svn468 - 2007/06/06 08:06 No problem, and thanks for testing the svn version. It was time for me to switch to boost 1.34 anyway . --

Re:small issue in svn468 - 2007/09/09 18:56 As of svn revision 838, boost 1.34 is required. There is now a new dependency to boost::filesystem. --

Re:small issue in svn468 - 2007/09/10 02:28 Oh and about all the symlinks from mt to non-mt versions of boost libs: Be careful about this. Basically, you *must* use the mt-version of all relevant boost libs. mt means the lib has been compiled with multithreading support - see naming conventions in the getting started section of www.boost.org . If you symlink to a non-mt version, PokerTH will sometimes randomly crash or show undefined behaviour because of race conditions, as the boost stuff is heavily used in several threads (at least in network games). --
