just 3 community cards - 2007/08/29 18:46 Hey Admin, hey users!

You can see the problem on this screenshot!


Usually you can just use 3 community cards (the cards in the middle of the table), but in PokerTH you can use 4 cards. So the computer often use four of them (I do it also) to create a flush, straight or full house! Maybe it’s another type of poker, but in Texas Hold’em you normally just use 3 community cards + your own 2 cards! I hope I’m right with this claim!

Actually, in No Limit Texas Holdem you can use any 5 cards from the 7 you have available (2 hole+5 community). You can even "play the board", which means you only use the community cards (then the best thing you can hope for in a showdown is a split pot).

I think I did hear about another type of poker where you have to use 3 community cards+2 hole cards. It might be Omaha, or maybe Pot Limit Texas Holdem can be played like this, I don't know.

Die Spieler dürfen ihre zwei Karten zusammen mit einer Auswahl aus drei der fünf offenen Karten in der Mitte verwenden, um ihre beste Kartenkombination zusammenzustellen.

In the most online-poker rooms you can just use 3 of the 5 community cards, too. It could be wrong, but we play poker like the rules in top of this text! Sorry, if i was wrong!

where did you find your quoted rule text? cause this was totally unknown for me before.

we implemented the texas hold'em no-limit poker rules known from the world series of poker or european poker tour you can watch every day on tv. and you can find this rules also in online poker rooms like europoker and pokerstars.

but i think there are many possibilities to play texas hold'em.
