For me, there is better option:

Start-Cash = $10000
First small blind: $50
Raise blinds every: 8 Hands
Always double blinds

Do you really think about "Raise blinds every: 8 Hands" when playing with 10 players?

I like your ideas, but would prefer more starting $$, but can live with the lower amount as well..
The question I have is..Will there be a waiting period if you lose to start over again or how will that work?
There are so many lousy players who will continue to ruin games if they lose and are allowed to just restart unlimited games at $10,000. Ranking will mean little to them because they're lousy anyway so how will we separate serious players from the kids who don't care one way or the other how lousy they play?
Another issue I don't think has ever been addressed is when you want to raise a bet there is the default of "bet" and there is "All In" and a slider. Would it be at all possible to have a series of buttons where you can chose how much to raise bets besides the default or all in or slider? Something where you can quickly pick to bet say 1/10th, 1/5th, 1/3rd, of your available cash, etc.. The only reason I ask is because sometimes when the server gets busy I'll get a fold when it's really the slider just hanging up. Sometimes I want to raise, but neither the default nor all in and there is the slider. When someone makes a default short initial speed (which I prefer over the slow poking along games) that's when I sometimes run into a hanging slider.. Does that make sense?

The Tournament structure of the European Poker Tour states:

"Players start with 30,000 in chips with levels at 60 minutes on Day 1 and 75 minutes thereafter."

Since poker hands at PokerTH are way more quick than in an actual table I'd say that a 6-8 minute interval could be sufficient for PokerTH.

Also, EPT has manual blind order (not exactly "double-blind" although it could be simulated as such with the omission of some "Levels".).

More details with the exact blinds are at:
www.europeanpokertour.com/tournaments/structure/

Greetings!

Stop the bullshit of taking a point of comparison with live events, be it the EPT, WPT, WSOP or my butcher's Saturday night game.
If you want references take single table tournaments (SnG) online.

To me the ranking games should not be customizable, except to specify maximum Early All-in penalty points to register.
Other than that we should define a "standard" pokerTH game.

For instance:
    min. 5 players (no computers)
    Starting stack = 5,000
Blinds go up every 8 hands
    Structure: 25-50 50-100 75-150 100-200 then double

Also I think usernames should be allowed to play such games after requesting online to admins (if username created more than x days before).

Early all-in (EAI) penalties:
no average to good player will put all his chips at risk preflop early in a tournament so I suggest this rating

During the first blind level (25-50)
10 EAI points for the first player all-in preflop if player as more than 1500 chips (something around 25% of starting stack or introduce m calculation, ad it to the interface and specify m<20). Reraise all-in doesn't count of course.
7 EAI points on the flop, same conditions apply for all the following,
3 after the flop (turn and river)

During the second blind level (50-100)
7 pts preflop
5 points on the flop
1 pt after

During the third blind level (75-150)
3 points preflop

What's do you think of this?

Start-Cash = $10000
First small blind: $50
Raise blinds every:X Hands (X=numbers of players at start)
Always double blinds

I would make this kind of system: If the blinds raises and if you do not want a bad average, you will have to get more money. The sooner you have not the money, the more bad will be your average.
Example:
1. At the beginning of the game you must have at least $2000 or your average will be 80% less.
2. At the 1st blinds raise you must have at least $4000 or your average will be 30% less.
3. At the 2nd blinds raise you must have at least $6000 or your average will be 15% less.
4. If you have at the 3rd blinds raise at least $14000, your average will increase 15%/(your average).
5. If you have at the 4th blinds raise at least $18000, your average will increase 30%/(your average).
6. If you have at the 5th blinds raise at least $26000, your average will increase 45%/(your average).
7. If you have at the 6th blinds raise at least $35000, your average will increase 60%/(your average).
8. If you have at the 7th blinds raise at least $65000, your average will increase 75%/(your average).
9. If you win the game at the 8th blinds raise or sooner, your average will increase 100%/(your average).
