I believe there used to be an IRC poker group that worked as such:

- You had 2 options -- play a limit hold'em "cash" game or a no-limit tournament

- You couldn't immediately buy into a tournament, you had to earn enough chips at the cash game to qualify

This made it such that if you wanted to sit around pounding the raise button, you could do so, but only at the limit holdem table. You actually had to try at the tournaments or you'd be sent packing down to limit holdem "hell" again.

As many of you I'm also tired of the all the players who go all in on the first hand so I'm looking for other serious players to have some good private games. Maybe we can set up play times? If you're interested please reply.

I'm not sure whether we will be able to setup a timetable of games.

Maybe we should setup a list of "serious" players somehow so that if you see them in a game you know it will be better.

I think a player ranking table will help get players to take the game seriously which I think might be in the programmers pipeline in the next version of the software (have to double check that)

Perhaps we need to create a list of players on the forum that play decently.

I must admit my patience is wearing thin with some of the "players". Just now some person in the first hand went "All in" with 10-5 clubs against five others!?!?!?!
A joke and frankly I feel a real waste of my time. Its really frustrating as you can have some great games but the vast majority are truely awful

Its the problem with "play money" we need some "real" value put on not being an "all in" fool at the table. Perhaps freezing out a (persons IP address + username) if they go bust on x number of occasion in x time space. Its something for the developers to look at. Perhaps they can do that if a username is assigned per person through and verified via email.
Anyway I am rambling off topic.

To put it short. If you see me around elSid (picture of a bloke with a pipe) then I am not an "all in" numpty and would welcome a game

Well, I'm a beginner "serious player", so if you see Superhand, with the Ace of Clubs - 3 of Diamonds avatar, I'll not be risking my chips on a 8-2 preflop. Though I do tend to make stupid decisions, especially at the turn

As for the timetables... don't think this will work, but just in case:

Well, password protected servers. It's probable that the "quick" players don't read the forums too much, so why don't we just post the passwords?

i am a serious player and always look for others so i think a list with nicknames is a good idea. making timetables is not easy because serious and non-serious players are participating 24 hours a day.
