Had the same problem. Mistyped my beta 0.8-account and wanted to rename it. Renaming is not possible, neither deleting nor creating a new account with the same old mail address.
2 days ago I sent a message to the webmaster, as suggested. No answer so far.
...
Why is deregistering always that difficult
...
Hope someone is able to help.
