Have a lot of love for PokerTH because it really got me into the game. I have met great people like Tom Collins, and Spaik, and Hoki through PokerTH, for which I will be ever grateful.
My problem however: many games are too slow, causing people to get frustrated and go all in on medium-ranked cards. It's a shame, and totally unnecessary because I played some of the best games ever with PokerTH.
To solve this issue of slow game-play, I usually tweak the settings in this way:
Gamespeed: 9
Timeout: 12
Big blinds: 2000k, to 6000k (forever... pretty realistic and important)
Cash: 300,000
Players: 7
Though I definitely do not claim to have found the holy grail here, I hope to provoke a discussion. Maybe a next release of PokerTH could be shipped with default settings that allow for faster game-play.

I totally agree.
Others already complained about this behaviour.
One thing I would like to see in these default settings is a 20 sec duration for reflexion. Not longer. 30 seconds is acceptable but 1 minute is definately too long.

Those look like acceptable defaults although they get up to their maximum (6000) awfully quickly - if it takes one or two more hands for the blinds to go up, you can have some more 'warm-up' rounds.
Also I would chip off a few zeroes:
Big blinds: 20 to 60
Cash: 3000
But that's because I don't like big numbers personally - matter of taste entirely.
I also like lower think times - also makes it easier, at least for a few hands, to tolerate a person who got momentarily distracted by the phone and forgot to turn on auto-fold. Of course short think times are not realistic but how much of a read can you really get in an online game?
