Also what do you think of creating an ELO/Glicko kind of ranking if you have to start from the scratch?

I think making a Elo/Glicko-like system for pokerth is certainly an interesting idea.
However, that should not be the focus in the near future.
A simple ranking where you "just" have to add some numbers and multiply stuff is much easier to code, and therefore i think it is the better way for the start.
I already have coded an ELO-like system for BBC and that was more work than a simple ranking.

With that having said, I think we can discuss this again once things run normally.
Thinking long-term, the change to a pokerth ranking is also an opportunity to try new things such as an ELO-like system.

everything is a question of organisation.

Hi all,

just to clarify the relation between the old PokerTH team and the 2nd generation of PokerTH developers. I'am speaking mostly from my point of view but i think at the most points my colleagues lotodore and floty will agree.

The old team including lotodore, floty and me (doitux) were getting "old" and had to much other obligations (jobs, family etc.) to really renew the PokerTH software. That's why we decided to look for new volunteers for the development of the PokerTH software. It was really hard for us to accept that, but we've understood that this step is the best for the project and the community!

In between there was a lot of help from the user sp0ck during the DDOS attacks. Then he also started to write (together with tahr) some new server features which are already included in the current running server. Later he did the completly pokerth.net update which was urgently needed especially from the technical point of view. To see that there is an active PokerTH player who just did a lot of work for the project was really great. So we decided to transfer the hole PokerTH project to him (sp0ck). He is the new maintainer of pokerth.net and together with his new developers colleagues thar and supernoob they are the 2nd generation PokerTH development team! We fully support them, wish them all the best and also respect the decission they will do!

best regards

I looked through my old stuff when I used to play ranking and found something that might be interesting “for the new gen devs”. I used to save my statistics, because there was a bug in the calculation of the rank-o-meter which was quite awkward. So I decided to store some data. I also used to save my profile page as html-file(+data) and mht-file. Not sure if you could extract some data out of these files to restore the old ranking or create a new one.
