I've now tested with a tablet, also on my home internet - same error message.
And I've done a factory reset of settings on my laptop - same error message still.

I don't understand the tech stuff, so any step-by-step instructions to overcome the problem when trying to 'analyse files' ? reminder that error message was number 28.

Error code 28 means "Connection timed out" during upload of pdb file - the client tries to upload pdb file after entering log-file-analysis section and gets stuck in this process.


Please try it out with a different network. As it really appears to be related to your network only.

EDIT: also check if IPv6 in Network Game Settings is disabled.

The 'use ipv6' checkbox is not ticked in my internet or network game settings.

I have now been connected via a different network (via mobile phone hotspot) and, as you predicted, I was indeed able to 'analyse log files' with no error 28.

So you were correct that the problem is with my home internet connection. Though I have not deliberately changed anything to cause the error to start a fortnight ago. I do not connect via a proxy. switching off windows defender firewall makes no difference. I've reset all pokerTH settings to factory. Any ideas how to fix it ?

Otherwise, what would be the implications of deleting the app and then downloading and re-installing it again ? Might that work ? Would I be able to be ridley97 still, with all my previous game history intact ?

As it worked with your phone's connection so no need to delete or reinstall , you have to check your router settings or with your ISP.

first you play the game, then the game plays you and when it plays against you better to stop...

Since you're from the UK, many ISP's have switched on censoring filtering by default.

You can login into your account and disable it. At Plusnet it is called "Safeguard", other ISP's might call it differently.

Alternatively you can change the used DNS servers in your router to for instance Google's DNS servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 or Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1
