My guess is that if you've installed LXDE you are unlikely to need these instructions, however:

download the file ...

(don't bother with the 1.1beta it's unreliable, and anyway 1.0.1 works fine)

open Terminal (from 'Other' menu)

type in at the prompt ... sudo nautilus

navigate to the Downloads folder by clicking...
File System (left pane)
home (right pane)
the folder that matches your user name (right pane)
Downloads (right pane)

right click the file ...
click ... Properties (from the pop up menu)

select the Permissions tab

change each Access drop-down box to Read and Write

Tick ... Execute: Allow executing file as program (ie make sure a tick is shown in the box)

Click ... Close

right click the file ...

This time click ... Open (at the top of the menu), PokerTH should install perfectly

I prefer this install-way:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-sdk-team/ppa
This is needed if you install pokerth 1.1 which depends on libqt5
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pkg-games/ppa

Depending on the version you like to install you should verify the sources.list
less equal quantal is 1.0.1
greater equal raring is 1.1

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade
to make the system uptodate you can install the software with
sudo apt-get install pokerth
