Missed you all! Been a super busy and crazy summer! Lot's of upsets, changes, and advancements in my life. Thought I'd highlight the big stuff!
I used to need some assistance in my home to help me with the many things I could not do. As some may remember, At the end of last year, I had a mechanical ceiling lift installed throughout my home.
I have continued to make great strides in my independence. I started the year with 2 five hour shifts daily for my helpers. I reduced slowly and steady from 10 hours, to 9... to 8... When i Got to six my home health agency decided my case did not meet the criteria for continued service, as it was no longer paying them enough. I had dropped from 70 hours weekly down to 42 hours so thy gave me notice.
I found a new agency and new staff. I was more concerned with gaining my life back than I was about the old agencies bottom line. I kept reducing more. I am now at 1 four hour shift in the morning. I do everything else myself. It saved the public health insurance over 60k a year. I am elated.
Also, my sister is following in my footsteps and not in a good way. Shes had two strokes so far this year. It is how my grandma died, so it must run in our family in a major way. Shes been fortunate both times and made a full recovery. Hope it stays that way.
The last thing I want to share is Alfie! He is HUUUGE! Only 5 months in and he is bigger than his mom and then some. He is still growing and eating me out of house n home! Here's some pics...
p.s. hope you are all well!
