Between variant 1 and 3 it is difficult to choose. They both seem good. They spread well Step 2 games across the whole week. Ended up choosing variant 1, mostly because of the extra step 2 on Saturday, which always seems good. Although variant 3 would be no problem either.

The question however is what will this do to unscheduled games? We all love our BBC. And we all play for fun. But some of us also play competitively. The proliferation of unscheduled games does tend to give an unfair advantage to those players who spend more time on PokerTH.

I think you are right about the timezones. It would be in the good interest of BBC to find some Asian or Middle-East admins. The current bias is what's pushing the scheduled games between 17:00 and 00:00 or 01:00.

Personally, I'd rather see BBC organized around scheduled games than impromptu games. Or one could have an Impromptu Day of The Week, like Saturdays or Sundays, when games run whenever by whomever admins. But, indeed, without more Eastern admins, I agree it is not possible to extend the current schedule.

I'm not sure what makes you think restricting impromptu games would make this an exclusive club. BBC games always invite players from the lobby when registered players don't meet the quota. And any player can register to a BBC game.

All the trouble going through these schedules, certainly has to have a meaning. Otherwise why care to vote and establish a schedule if it can be freely ignored or expanded? The registering process also has to have a meaning. Why go through all the trouble of setting a place on the BBC website for players to register, if they don't have to?

Making impromptu games rarer does not make BBC an exclusive club. It just aims to provide the BBC league with a more organized and predictable environment. And the prestige that always come from things that we understand are backed by... organization.

Now, what I do agree is that there is currently a problem for players from certain time zones. But frankly, I don't see an effort of anyone to set a BBC game at 4:00 am WEC. Which is understandable, since we don't have admins hailing from that time zone. But since impromptu games are being set mostly on the regular WEC hours, then they serve no purpose as a means to answer the needs of players on different time zones. Neither they are answering the need to call new players into BBC. In the end they are just serving the need of the regular BBC players to play yet another game.
