I've been able to get the Live Spectator client to connect to a private server.

I had to make a couple edits to the neteventshandler.js file, mainly disabling some authentication type checks.

1. In the handleMsgAnnounce function, it seems to check for an Authentication type which was failing.
I just set this to always pass, and now the spectator client can connect to the server.

2. It also checks if the server "isOfficialServer" which I also bypassed.

Once I did this the client connects to the server and allows guests to view games.

I can post the patch file if anyone is interested.

Thanks,
Steven

Hi Steven,

thank you for you input.

It might make sense to offer a branch for using the spectool with a "stock" private server only - not using any auth.

Please post a patch-file. I will then integerate it to the github repository.

Kind regards,
sp0ck
