We Cup members,
and all WeC fans,

we start a new topic to split all important announcements by the WEC Admin Board from the daily traffic.


You want to join the Weekend Cup?

1.you need some fundamental requirements:

If you are an experienced player with more than 1,000 games, but you have not achieved the place 1-4 = 60%+ rule, we also implemented a rule for PokerTH Veterans. If so, the following clause could be interesting for you.


veterans rule:

Any player, who miss WEC cut with more than 1000 games and 4 old seasons is also able to qualify via veterans rule.
For such players the weighted average has to be used
The weighted average of the last 100 games of current and last two seasons or last 3 (or more) complete seasons (you need at least 300 games, like WEC cut). An Average of 5.75 is needed to qualify via veterans rule.

the basic formula to calculate the ability of a player is:

(games of current season*average of last 100 games of current season+games of season 2013/2*average of last 100 games of season 2013/2+games of season 2013/1*average of last 100 games of season 2013/1+games of season 2012/4*average of last 100 games of season 2012/4)/(games of current season+ games of season 2013/2+games of season 2013/1+games of season 2012/4)

The highest value for games for all seasons is 100.

new idea? i like
when start WE CUP we had games only Wednesday Friday and Sunday.
more or less 15 wecs every month
1 win is good to play final...
but today we have wec all days
more or less 60 we cup every month.
so, current rules no good. (i think, only my opinion).
current rules you need only 1 victory to play semi final and final.
no good because we have games all days
maybe we can try new rule
you need 2 wins to play semi final or final
or
you need 3 wins to play semi final or final

example
win me?? can win 10 wins in december
doc ijiwaru can win only 1 win in december
the semi final, win me?? 6 place and doc ijiwaru 3 place
doc ijiwaru go final table and with big luck, him win the final table and is new champion of wec (would be a dream)

10 wins of win me?? is nothing....

and about RANK, i dont like current rule
you need lost more points if no play....
maybe, you need play 7 we cup last 30 days (or lost 50% points)

Hello GAVIOES,

thank you for sharing your ideas. But it a bit late to change something at the qualification modus for 2014.

But there are some changes in 2014.

First the Winner of January 2014 will be qualified for February 2014 Semifinal. So you have chance to defend the title. But this doesn't mean you can lean back if you win.

Second the ranking will be overhauled a bit. But I can't tell you much yet. Because because the WEC Admin Board is currently in voting.

A minimum winning percentage would be more fair IMHO. Because there are players, who can play only a few games.

Another way to monthly semi final could be a good placement at WEC monthly ranking (e.g.: Top 20 ). A player who plays consistent can reach a Top 20 placement easily even without winning a single game. This could be a nice “back-door” to monthly final if we establish a winning percentage to qualify for WEC monthly Finals.

As example I use the WEC monthly ranking of November 2013.

1st Doc Ijiwaru: 7 wins, 21 games, top3 57,1%, average 11,57 points per game, score: 161,60
2nd ElmoEGO: 3 wins, 13 games, top3 53,8%, average 11,54 points per game, score: 161,05
3rd win me??: 11 wins, 36 games, top3 47,2%, average 10,83 ppg, score: 151,80
...
10th GAVIOES: 7 wins, 42 games, top3 40,5%, average 7,83 ppg, score: 109,40
11th Emmeler: 2 wins, 19 games, top3 36,8%,average 7,63 ppg, score: 106,58
12th M4N!4C: 0 wins, 12 games, top3 41,7%,average 7,58 ppg, score: 105,83
13th Dati: 3 wins, 27 games, top3 37,0%,average 7,33 ppg, score: 102,42
…
18th zotti: 2 wins, 5 games, top3 60,0%,average 11,80 ppg, score: 91,46
19th Bab: 0 wins, 10 games, top3 40,0%,average 6,20 ppg, score: 86,51

Unfortunately I'm the prime example in this case. But why should a player who played good say out of monthly final? What do you think?

Maybe there are editable starting stacks in PokerTH in future. So we could give you a small extra for any extra win you gain.
