login issue PokerTH 2.0

I successfully could login to the 2.0 server after using resend activation from the login menu
I think I found an issue that has been addressed. This is what I have a problem with. The other post was in German and I didn't do a translate yet but I'll post my finding then may hop on Discord.
I used a brand new linux install (debian) and installed 2.0 and it worked fine. I went to login on 1.2 and so I needed to download 1.2 and I installed it using the .installer version. It would not work and just referred me to 2.0 and then asked to use a longer nickname? don't know......
Second had 2.0 installed then installed 1.1.2 and the icon sent me to 2.0 when it said 1.1.2? don't know if that's an issue
