Tutorial: Fix PokerTH window size on high-resolution displays
Posted: Sat Dec 14, 2024 4:27 pm
Hi everyone,
users who have a high-resolution display (1440p, 1800p, 4K etc.) may have noticed that PokerTH does not scale together with all the other windows and apps. Your Windows display scaling might be set to 125%, 150% or much higher, but PokerTH is still rendering at 100%, making text very small.
This can be fixed with the Compatibility settings in Windows in a few simple clicks.
Tutorial
Step 1: Quit PokerTH
Step 2: Go to C:\Program Files\PokerTH-1.1.2
Screenshot: Step 3: Right click on "pokerth.exe" and select "Properties"
Step 4: Click on the tab "Compatibility" at the top
Screenshot: Step 5: Click on "Change high DPI settings" at the bottom
Step 6: Tick the box at "Override high DPI scaling behaviour"
Step 7: From the drop-down menu of "Scaling performed by", select "System"
Screenshot: Step 8: Click on "OK" in both windows you just opened
Step 9: Start PokerTH
Result
PokerTH will now render larger than before.
The text won't be as crisp as before. It will be slightly blurry. But it makes using the client interface much more playable.
Thank you to the PokerTH team for maintaining this project and running the servers!
Cheers,
Tom
