Updating extremely outdated Pokerth APK
I was wondering if someone could just compile and add a modern APK to the downloads section real quick cause it can't be installed on newer devices at all. The sdk version is too low and it's ONLY compiled for armeabi which gave me a res-113 error on Android 15 when I tried side loading it. I know this project is still somewhat active despite the APK being at least a decade old so I figured I'd ask. Someone put build instructions for android on your GitHub in 2019 so I don't see why it couldn't be done. Ps. someone wrote here that the APK won't be continued however I don't know if they're the head of the project.

as this project is open-source = everyone can contribute (https://github.com/pokerth/pokerth) - the best way to speed up time with your request is to read some manuals and figure out how to build an android client by yourself. It's not impossible - but it's really time intensive.
There are only a very few persons currently active from time to time with preparing a new client/server release (e.g.: new release uses qt6 now). But esp. building for platforms like android is a super hassle - and there are currently way more important things to do.
Beside there is a new GUI planned and in progress. So for us devs/contributors it does not make a lot of sense to spend much time into building the old client for modern android versions, when a new GUI is in progress (... which will also result in new clients for MacOS and Android).
Maybe you or someone else has the time & motivation to do it ... I'd be really glad

Can you desribe where/how you started and at what point you failed?

I am interesting in reactivating and broadening my little coding skills - so I will wait for the new GUI and then start to work with the apk. Is it possible to write down a little checklist with most needet skills/software?
