I have noticed the "Side Pot" occurs more frequently than I remember. This may very well be my inability to pay closer attention.
Can someone please explain how the "Side Pot" works and is it actually happening more often. Thank you in advance for any help. Great appreciation for the people behind the scenes that keep this site running.

Here is an explaination what happens

tl;dr If the player with the least amount of chips wins a hand in an all-in scenario, he can only win from the other player(s) what he put into the pot himself. The other players play for the remaining chips (side pot).
It doesn't happen more often than in the past. It's just you paying more attention to it.
