Muchas gracias.

Hi spankyss,

thanks for the report — and you're right, this is not something we can fix
on our end, but I can tell you exactly what is happening.

Your ISP is not blocking pokerth.net. LaLiga has court orders in Spain that
require the major ISPs (Movistar, Orange, Vodafone, DIGI, ...) to block lists
of IP addresses during match times, in order to stop pirate football streams.
The blocks are done at IP level, not by domain name.

pokerth.net sits behind Cloudflare, and Cloudflare uses shared IP addresses —
the same address serves thousands of unrelated sites. So when one of those
addresses ends up on LaLiga's list, everything else on it goes down in Spain
too, for the duration of the match. That is why it only happens on football
days and why a VPN fixes it.

We are far from alone: GitHub, Docker Hub, Google Fonts, Wikimedia, Bluesky
and many others have been hit the same way over the past seasons.

Unfortunately there is no switch on our side to turn this off. Moving off
Cloudflare would leave the site exposed to the attacks it is currently
protecting us from.

What does help is complaining, and complaints from affected users carry more
weight than ours:

- LaLiga runs a mailbox for people affected by these blocks:
afectadoscloudflare@laliga.es
- Spanish users can also file a complaint with the CNMC, the telecoms
regulator, on the grounds of net neutrality (EU Regulation 2022/612).

Until then, a VPN is the only reliable workaround. Changing your DNS servers
will not help, since the blocking happens at IP level.

Sorry for the trouble — it is genuinely out of our hands.
